At Jerry’s Enterprises in Minneapolis, Matt is responsible for the accounting operations of the company. This includes producing periodic financial reports, and maintaining a system of accounting records, controls, and processes to mitigate risk. He also ensures reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles. Previously, Matt spent nine years in the Minneapolis audit practice of Grant Thornton LLP, where he served as an audit manager. He has worked on various SEC and private company engagements, including experience with companies across several industries, such as manufacturing, services, private equity, for-profit educational institution, and others.
Matt received a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Iowa in Iowa City and a master of science degree in accountancy from the University of St. Thomas in Minneapolis. Matt currently serves as a board member and treasurer of Companies to Classrooms, Inc., a nonprofit organization that supports students and teachers by providing educational supplies to teachers. He is also a volunteer and wish granter for Make-A-Wish Foundation in Minneapolis.
