Camp Fire Appoints Greg Zweber as New President and CEO

National youth development organization, Camp Fire, is proud to announce the appointment of Greg Zweber as President and CEO. Zweber brings 24 years of nonprofit and corporate experience to the role and most recently served as the Chief Affiliate Officer for Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) of America.

“I am invigorated by the organization’s commitment to creating space for youth to embrace who they are and become confident shapers of their worlds now and in the future,” Zweber said. “It’s an honor to become a part of Camp Fire’s rich legacy and cutting-edge youth development work. I am most looking forward to collaborating with Camp Fire’s 53 councils and their communities across the country to best serve today’s youth and families.”

Zweber, a Minnesota native, brings extensive experience in board recruitment, fundraising, financial management, youth development and organizational stabilization and growth. Zweber succeeds Camp Fire President and CEO Cathy Tisdale, who retired after nearly a decade with the organization.

Zweber received his Bachelor’s degree in Business Communications and Administration in 1995 from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota. Shortly after, he served two years in the Peace Corps as a Rural Community Development Volunteer in Ecuador.

Additionally, he has volunteered his time and provided his expertise to community-based organizations including the Steele County Safe and Drug Free Coalition and the Dodge County Family Services Collaborative, while serving as Executive Director of BBBS of Southern Minnesota for more than six years.

Zweber has been married to his wife Nicole for 20 years and has three children. He enjoys spending time with his family, keeping in touch with his 11 siblings and playing golf in his leisure time.
