Just in time for National Volunteer Week, April 12-18, 2015, comes the latest calculation of the value of a volunteer hour. According to www.independentsector.org, that value is now $23.07 per hour—a 52-cent increase from 2013, up 2.3 percent from the previous year.
According to the Corporation for National and Community Service, about 62.6 million Americans, or 25.4 percent of the adult population, gave 7.7 billion hours of volunteer service worth $173 billion in 2013. For each and every one of those hours spent in service of Camp Fire councils from coast to coast, or if you give through your donations, we thank you.
